About My Photography

Hello, my name is Megan Meyer. I'm a young adult from Southern California with a passion for Photography. I've been interested in photography for as long as I can remember. It's a hobby I've grown into over the years. I took yearbook for two years in middle school, that's where I learned the basics of photography. From there I taught myself. Watching YouTube videos, reading articles, and learned the most from hands on experience. I love talking with other photographers as well. Their advice has always helped me in expanding the quality of my content.  

I like sharing my work, in hopes to one day inspire someone out there, that you can make your dreams come true! Don't be afraid the get out of your comfort zone. You never know where it will lead you. I've recently been given many opportunities to grow my photography and I'm excited to see where it takes me. Thank you for taking the time to view my website!

This was one of the first photos that helped me realize how much I enjoyed photography. I took this picture in 8th grade. I was beyond proud of myself. Nature is a very beautiful thing and to capture its beauty is something I'll enjoy forever. Nature Photography is a wide range type photography. Mostly taken outdoors it is devoted to displaying natural elements such as landscapes, wildlife, plants, and close-ups of natural scenes and textures. I've expanded from nature photography but will always hold it near my heart as it is where I started my journey. 

I got into Interior Design Photography through who is my current boss. I'm currently her personal Photographer! Going into Interior Design Photography was a little scary for me. I had no prior experience and had no clue what I was doing. I still really don't. ;) I watched YouTube videos and searched the Internet for tips and tricks. This photo definitely reassured me that I could do it. I still have a lot of learning and growing to do but I'm excited for the journey to come! It's been about two years since getting into Interior Design Photography and I still learn something new every project.

I've always loved taking pictures for sports, but I haven't had a lot of opportunities. I've taken pictures for my old middle and high school's sports teams but never got the chance to grow from there. Until recently, last season I was given the opportunity to shooting part time for coachellavalley.com. I'm excited to share I will be shooting our Firebirds again this season! Capturing our valleys AHL team, the Coachella Valley Firebirds. I'm a huge sport fan so for me I really enjoy taking these photos. It makes me feel more involved in the game. I love capturing those intense shots, saves, and scores! It's such an intense subject to shoot but I personally love the intensity. I'm new to the sports photography world so please feel free to give me any advice or information.
